Texas 2026

Dale and I spent the first week of June taking care of Joey the Dog while her family was in California. We had several after-work adventures while were there. We also enjoyed Father's Day together.

Baby's daycare was closed for the week so we got to care for her all week. Each morning we walked down to the playground before it got too hot. She is getting big enough to enjoy it. We had a good week

May was a month of celebration. Our oldest granddaughter graduated from high school and our youngest granddaughter had her first birthday! We also bought a van!

Dale and I spent a week on O'ahu in April at the Marriott Beach Villas in Ko O'lina. It was our second time at the resort. We stayed mostly around the resort area except for one trip to the North Shore for Dale's surf lesson. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable trip

April began with celebrating Easter. It was also the last month that I would be watching granddaughter full time. Dale and I also spent a week in Hawaii, but that's in a separate photo gallery. The Js went to Big Bend to celebrate their anniversary.

In March we were busy! All of our family came to baby's family commitment ceremony at our church. We spent a weekend with with the Js at their home in New Braunfels. We rented a camper van and went camping at Cedar Breaks, then the following weekend we went to North Texas for a visit. What a great month!

The first weekend in February we enjoyed a walk at Cedar Breaks Park on Lake Georgetown. The following weekend was Valentine's day, which we spent at the Sheraton in the Rivery. Dale was off on President's Day so we did a nice long hike at Garey Park.

Our granddaughter, who is an amazing baker, made us some delicious snacks to take on our trip to South Dakota and Michigan the summer of 2025. Dale and I thought it would be fun to save one of her Blondies and photograph her in many of the places we visited. For Christmas I made a book using the photos with these captions. I also included a story that used a well-known book by Dr. Seuss, with my own personal edits. It was a very fun project for a young lady we love very much.

We took advantage of MLK holiday and went to Inks Lake to enjoy the beautiful weather. We hiked the Pecan Flats Trail, which was a first for us. It was 3.5 miles of rugged Central Texas terrain. We concluded with lunch at a campsite by the lake.

A year new has begun and I'm hopeful. I'm thanking the Lord for our many blessings and looking forward to what he will do. I'm still watching baby every day while Dale works from home. Enjoy these highlights of the month!
