Hello Summer!

Dale and I are currently dog sitting while our new high school graduate and her family tour California. We’re considering it an eight-day adventure vacation, well, Dale has to work, but we’re doing our best to have a few adventures.

The first half of this year has slipped by like a greased pig thrown down a slip-n-side! Ha! But if I had to make a list of the biggest events since 2026 kicked off, I would narrow them down to the following …

Top Four Events

Family Commitment
Our youngest grandchild had an eventful few months. All of our family came to town for her family commitment ceremony at our church in March. She also started daycare in April, and she turned one year old in May! Yes, I’m sad to say that I no longer watch her every day. It was a wonderful experience for both Dale and I, but we expect to have her over as often as we can.

Trip to Hawaii
Dale and I went back to O’ahu in April to the same resort we visited last year. It was our fourth trip to Hawaii and we made it our goal for it to be the most relaxing trip yet, and it was. We rented bikes for the week so that we would not spend our time running all over the island. We did rent a car for one day, Thursday, when Dale and I went to the North Shore for his surf lesson. I think he’s finally gotten that out of his system!

High School Graduation
Our oldest grandchild graduated from high school in May! It’s hard to believe she will be headed to Baylor in the Fall. We are so proud of her. Her brother is starting 8th grade and is already looking like a full-blown teenager. It’s hard to believe he’s looking and sounding so mature!

Bought a Van
Yes, we’re going to live in a van down by the river (if you know, you know), or at least we’ll hopefully camp by beautiful rivers whenever we get a chance. We’ve been talking about and researching the possibility of a camper van for a couple of years. We rented a camper van in March and really enjoyed it. So, less than two weeks ago, we bought a Ram Promaster Cargo Van and dropped it off with a guy to have it converted into an RV. It should be ready at the end of July. We’ve already got three trips planned.

Of course, a lot more than this has happened in the last few months, but I’m not going to attempt to recount them all, or even go into detail on the ones I did list. However, you can rest assured that I will be detailing our camper van adventure, as we are considering this part four of our Moon River adventures. You can always see my lates photos on my photos page.
