Saturday Afternoon Road Trip

After enjoying a leisurely breakfast at Mikey V’s and Dale baking a coconut cake for Easter lunch, we took a late afternoon road trip. Due to time, we stopped at just a few of the spots I had planned.

Doeskin Ranch, which is part of the Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge, gave us the opportunity to enjoy a few wild flowers. We were glad to see them since the drive itself afforded very few wild flower sightings. Doeskin Ranch also has some hiking trails as well that we’d like to visit when my foot is better.

We passed through Bertram on our drive. The Bertram Flyer stops at this 1912 Bertram Depot.

Beautiful view on a cloudy day from Sunset Deck near Lago Vista. The last part of the drive up to the scenic view is a gravel road, but it’s not too bumpy. We ended our drive at Mandola’s in Cedar Park where we enjoyed some delicious Italian food.
