Thursday Morning Sisters

In September 2022, while living a month in Massachusetts, I joined an online Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) group. I have been meeting with these ladies on Zoom every Thursday morning from September through May since then. The first year we study various books of the Old Testament, focusing on “People of the Promise – The Divided Kingdom.” Then September 2023 – May 2024 we study the book of John. Now we are just a few weeks from concluding our study of Revelation.

No matter how many times I’ve read the scriptures, God always shows me something new, especially with our current Revelation study. It’s a unique and exciting time in history. World headlines would drive me to despair if my hope was not in Christ. I have complete confidence in Him.

The ladies in my group are very diverse. Our leader, who is from Kenya, lives in Europe, another lady lives in Central America, but most are from the states … NYC, Georgia, Virginia, Florida, New Jersey, etc. We communicate during the week on WhatsApp, praying for one another. We all have struggles and victories.

This September we will begin our study “Exile and Return” which covers of a variety of Old Testament prophetic and historic books. There will be a special twist to this semester, I will be babysitting my granddaughter, who will make her debut next month. If she arrives at our home between 7-8 am on Thursday, and she’s awake, she will be a new addition to my group screenshots! Ha ha!

There are BSF groups that meet in person in my area, but I have established friendships with these ladies. I know that Sarah is going to pray with power, and Barbara is going to give a perspective based on experience and a mature faith. Joan is going to challenge us with her questions, and KB will be completely transparent. Everyone brings their unique perspective. I’m thankful for this BSF group.
