Grove of the Titans – July 2023

This trail was one of two that we hiked one Saturday in Northern California. We followed a winding, dirt road to this trail and enjoyed every minute of it. It is a new trail that features a raised boardwalk to protect the forest floor.

The park is part of both the National Park System and California State Parks.

Just looks so cool I had to take a photo.

The Titans trail was one of the nicest we've ever walked.

I don't usually get the opportunity to see an entire tree because the forest is so thick.

A short tunnel on the trail.

It takes a very long time for fallen Redwoods to decay so trees grow on and over them.

A beautiful little river just off the trail.

The raised trail helps to protect the undergrowth.

This new trail had many interesting features.

A park volunteer told us this Redwood is the largest diameter in the area.

Most of the trail to the Grove of the Titans was a raised boardwalk.

Subie looks great among the Redwoods!
