There was a trumpet and piano player entertaining us.After church brunch is the best!Eureka's waterfront.We ate lunch at this restaurant that used to be a saloon and brothel.Visitor center in Eureka.Old Town EurekaOne of the quaint storefronts in Old Town Eureka.Looks similar to poppies.Fort Humboldt was formally abandoned in 1870 and rapidly fell into decay. Today, only the hospital building remains of the original fourteen structures.t was during its first few years that Fort Humboldt was home to One of Fort Humboldt's most famous residents was the young Captain Ulysses S. Grant.Fort Humboldt State Park in Eureka, CA.Officer's quarters at Fort Humboldt State Park.Dolbeer Steam Donkey was a huge leap forward for loggers in the early 1900s.My handsome guy is ready to check out the sky walk.The Sequoia Zoo in Eureka.The skywalk bounced and swayed a bit. It was kind of unsettling, but very beautiful.The skywalk was attached to Redwood Trees at about 100 feet off the ground.A Red Panda. Doesn't look like a panda much to me.Flamingos are always a pretty sight.Dale crawls through the otter tube.These otters were the most entertaining wildlife at the zoo.I'd look a little angry too if I was in a cage.This eagle nest replica illustrates just how large their nest is.Help! Spiderman nabbed Dale!Put your behind in your past!Pose much?Sweet goat face.This raccoon was agitated and wouldn't pose for my photo. How rude. haVivid ibis.Just three flamingos hanging out.If Dale were wearing shorts you'd see the resemblance between his and the flamingo's legs! ha haIn honor of Buddy Turtle.Dale flies like an eagle, to the sea, flies like an eagle ....A cross placed at the top of a hill near Trinidad Bay was placed there in 1913 to replace a wooden cross from 1775 that stated the area was claimed for Spain.Hiking Trinidad Head Loop on a Wednesday afternoon.Trinidad beach.
