History and Donuts? Yes Please!

While researching activities for the Boston area I came across an experience that combines two of Dale’s most favorite things, history and donuts! The Underground Donut tour guide took about eight of us around Boston Saturday morning, tasting local donuts and learning more about the city’s history. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. It was cool and sunny, the attendees friendly, the guide funny and the donuts delish! We met at Kane’s Donuts in the Financial District then headed off for a two-hour tour. We ate donuts from four different local bakeries and saw some sights we’d never seen before.

That afternoon we had lunch at the restaurant that inspired the look of the bar in the television series “Cheers” then went to the movie at the AMC right next to the Boston Common.

On Sunday we attended the First Baptist Church of Lexington then toured the Lexington Green where the first skirmish of the Revolutionary War happened.
Here some additional photos from the our last weekend in Massachusetts. On Friday, we are off to Maine!
