About this time tomorrow Dale and I will be fast approaching the middle of the United States, God willing. We’ll spend the night in Kansas, and arrive in South Dakota Sunday evening.

We traveled the east coast in 2022, west coast in 2023, and now we are headed to South Dakota, then Michigan. Make way clowns and jokers, here we come!

Our Subaru is parked out front of our daughter’s house with the Thule on top and boxes inside. Hopefully we have everything we need for the next two months. We’ve enjoyed visiting with our kids and grandkids for the last couple of days. Our granddaughter, who will be a senior this fall, has been cooking all sorts of delicious sweets for a game night she’s planned for this evening. Several of her friends will be hanging out. Should be fun! Her baking is delicious too!

I’ve been planning this trip for over a year! When we were packing Dale said that he felt like the trip had snuck up on him. Not me! I’ve been working on it for so long I thought the day would never come.

This trip is a bit different than the previous ones; we actually have a home to return to. Also, it’s only two months long. Totally different vibe.

Here is a high level overview of our trip. We’ll be hiking, camping, swimming, attending a play in a state park, spending the night in Canada, visiting Mackinac Island, and going to the Ark Encounter before all is said and done. Keep us in your prayers!
