QuikTrips: Sisters Rodeo & High Desert Museum
Our first weekend in Oregon was an eventful one. On Saturday morning we drove half an hour northwest to the small town of Sisters for the Rodeo Parade. I was also able to get tickets to the rodeo for Sunday afternoon, so we headed back to Sisters after church the following day. I was hoping for Saturday night tickets, but all other shows were sold out. Apparently the Sisters Rodeo is a big deal. Every since the first one in 1940, it has hosted some big names in the rodeo circuit.
Saturday afternoon we stopped by the High Desert Museum in Bend. Apparently this whole area is a high desert environment. Bend is located where the desert ends and the Cascadian Mountain Range begins. This museum explains the history of the land and the people who first inhabited it.
Here are some photos of the weekend.
