QuikTrip: Cozy Camden

For our last Saturday in Maine we decided to do something we haven’t done once during this entire trip … go window shopping! We didn’t buy any windows, but we found a few items for the kids. Ha ha!

All of our excursions during the past four months have been focused on nature or history, with a sprinkle of whimsy such as our history donut tour in Boston (yes, I used the word whimsy). But when a lady at church mentioned Camden to us, and said it was so charming, we decided that would be just the thing for our last weekend here.

We made a two hour drive north to check it out. It’s a small town of about 5,000 and has a High Street Historic District, harbor, state park, beaches and probably a lot more we didn’t see.

We did a little Christmas shopping will in Camden. Quite a few nice shops on Main Street.
We had the best seat in the house for lunch. We grabbed sandwich from a small market on Main Street and sat at an empty table at the harbor.
Dale prepares to launch his drone. He got really good video of the harbor and a lighthouse.
We drove to the top of Mt. Battie in Camden Hills State Park. This is the view of Camden from the top.
We found this beautiful quiet path that followed the coastline.
We sat on some rocks and enjoyed a beautiful view. There was another family there as well. Even the grandparents hopped from rock to rock to get down close to the water. They must be locals! Ha!
Goodbye Camden!
