Monthly Airbnb Rentals

One of the biggest factors that can impact the overall success of our travels are accommodations that meet our needs. I mentioned our criteria in my previous post “We Just Booked our First Monthly Rental“. Well, here it is more than three months later and we haven’t booked our second rental. There are a few reasons for this.
We may loose our shirt if we cancel.
I should probably clarify … as I mentioned in my previous article, we can cancel a reservation but we will only get our cleaning fee back. This is particularly irritating because we have to pay the entire month up front. So, we want to be completely sure about our next rental. A wrong move and we could be out a couple of thousand dollars. Lastly, concerning money, we are having to pay for this now, not later when we have sold the home and we are without a mortgage. Needless to say we are using savings to do this. My plan is that we will be able to put that money back once we are on the road.
We want the Lord to continue to affirm, or stop our plans.
Knowing and obeying the Lord’s will for my (our) life is probably my greatest challenge as a believer. Without a doubt Dale and I want to be obedient. We are familiar with the Bible enough to know that God’s blessing rests on the obedient. We also believe he has a plan for us and we want to walk in it. I am keeping a list of what I consider affirmations. They include anything that I believe are making Moon River possible. If we encounter an obstacle I’m not going to automatically assume the Lord is saying no and I’m not assuming that if all goes perfect it means yes, but I do believe one way he makes us aware of his will is through circumstances.

We are not exactly sure where to stay.
There are so many towns and cities we want to see. I think I’m getting overwhelmed with the desire to make the perfect choice. No rental will be perfect but we do want to try and consider all aspects before shelling out the money. We have secured our first rental which is in Asheville, NC. After that we are looking to stay around eastern Virginia or the DC area. There are so many historic places and beautiful scenery. We would like our rental to be situated as conveniently as possible to as many attractions as possible.
As I write this I’m sitting on the back porch on a Sunday afternoon. Trick or Treaters will be coming tonight. We have also invited some of our young adult Bible fellowship group over to watch the Cowboys and eat chili dogs. It’s a beautiful day and I am happy.
