A Week at the Mound.

In the middle of July Dale and I spent one week visiting family in North Texas. It was a great week. The only downside was that both Dale and C were battling upper respiratory infections. It sounded like a tuberculosis ward! As I sit and type this, I’m suffering from drainage and sore throat. They better not have gotten me sick! Ha!

We arrive on Thursday evening and left the following Thursday morning. On Friday evening C and Z headed out for an overnight visit to Ft Worth. Dale and I had the opportunity to spend one-on-one time with A and B. They are at a great age … they are actually fun to hang out with. And, to top it off, they are well behaved! Great job Z and C!

On the weekdays Dale and Z worked while C, A, B and I did a variety of activities including several art projects. We also went to Half Price Books, swam at the recreation center, and, of course, grabbed a meal from Chick-fil-a! Dale joined us when he could. While we were in North Texas, J was in NC visiting J. She is flying home today.

We played a lot of games. This is one, Munchkins, requires focus. C won.

We celebrated Colton’s birthday on Sunday. It’s hard to believe he would be 10 years old. I wonder if he is aging as he lives in heaven? That morning we ate breakfast at Old West Cafe then went to Scheels where we spent about two hours exploring the huge store. We road the Ferris Wheel which is located in the center of the store.

We celebrated Colton’s birthday on Sunday.

One thing is for sure, it was a very crafty week. We made clay artwork and painted it. I painted three pictures that were not too bad. We made tie-dye shirts. I also painted a rock that I found on our walk to the lake.

This is my clay art. It’s a little bowl with a surprise head in it. I call it head in a bowl. Ha Ha.

Throughout the week we played a variety of games from Munchkins to Spades. We also enjoyed delicious grilled meats, including B’s signature spicey hotdogs and Z’s amazing grilled steak.
